A Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is a public or private, non-profit health care organization that meets certain criteria under the Medicare and Medicaid Programs (respectively, Sections 1861(aa)(4) and 1905(l)(2)(B) of the Social Security Act.) An organization that meets these criteria is eligible to apply for Health Center Program grant funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration's Bureau of Primary Health Care. Not all FQHC's receive this grant funding. For more information, see https://www.hrsa.gov/opa/eligibility-and-registration/health-centers/fqhc/index.html.
